Our Story

HOPE+HEARTH was founded by a mother inspired by her two sons — one who reminds her every day to slow down and appreciate the small joys in life, and another who is still discovering the path that will become his own.

Her son Thadd, who lives with autism, has a beautiful way of savoring the moments that matter most in life — catching snowflakes, looking at the stars, and simply finding joy in the quiet moments that many of us rush past.

His perspective helped shape the spirit behind HOPE+HEARTH and the belief that even the smallest light can help guide the way forward.

THE MAKER

Hi, I'm Lori — the founder and maker behind HOPE+HEARTH.

Candle-making has been part of my life for decades. I poured my first candle in 1995, though for many years it remained a creative outlet alongside a career that began in design and architecture, evolved to tech and fashion, and most recently took me to the friendly skies.

Creating with my hands has always felt like home — blending creativity with a little bit of science, patience, and curiosity.

A CREATIVE BEGINNING

Over time, the idea of building something lasting kept returning. I wanted to create something meaningful — something that could help support my family while bringing warmth and calm into the homes of others.

LIFE IN THE TETONS

After life took me west to the mountains of the Teton Valley, that vision began to take shape. Surrounded by open skies, alpine forests, and the quiet rhythm of mountain life, I returned to candle-making with new intention.

THE CANDLES

Each HOPE+HEARTH candle is hand-poured in small batches using natural wax, phthalate-free, essential oil–infused fragrance oils, and all-natural cotton wicks.

Our fragrances are thoughtfully created with the hope that they bring warmth, comfort, and a moment of stillness into your home.

MORE THAN A CANDLE COMPANY

HOPE+HEARTH is more than a candle company.

It's a dream built with purpose — a step toward creating a life rooted in family, creativity, love, and hopeful independence for Thadd — and hopefully one day, others like him.

Thank you for being part of our journey and for helping bring a little more light, love, and hope into the world.

more light. more love. more hope.
